Someone Worth Waiting For

How bold was it to say hello?
In the line I write, I convey the words needed to set a spark
And we will blow away the night
Like wind, undercover

How much did you lean into?
I’d say it softer if the lines I spoke could be said at all
And we hide from the rain
Flooding your mixed messages

How would you underline the point?
It came across like I’d follow the orders, marching
And even if the clouds would come
I’d get burned in your shade

Well how come they said they were falling?
I’d be in your basket
Riding down what held us away
From rescuing those who fell

Well, how come you haven’t fallen?
Were you holding back?
Those long held messages never sent
From someone worth waiting for
