Race to the Stoplight

You killed me, but I haven’t had a chance to die yet.

It’s not until your disappearing act that I find myself,
Looking at the lights passed through the time you haven’t been beside me
It’s just a race to the stop light
She sits next to me, waiting to host the general crowd,
It’s not until the veil comes off that we see act one is the lepers,
Looking for acceptance to the people they’ve begone
And it’s all just a race t the stop light,
Here we gather, examining each other’s eyes; hopelessly flawed
It sits not until the host comes off the general crowd,
And we are lepers
The death and decay we find in our neighbors; hopelessly found
You killed me, yet I haven’t had my chance to fly yet,
Instead I’m investigating if my heart has a bet, (on survival)
Instead I’m beating in your heart
You killed me, yet I haven’t made it to the stop light
(And it just goes on and on
On and on, like how you spoke when you found me)
