Never Made the Same

I built a tower,
Tore it down when I noticed
I saw my flaws and imperfections in it
And I was left with faded memories

I built a tower,
Constructed with porcelain
All in all, I couldn’t take care of it
As the cracks went chasing

I tore apart the house
Trying to find where the heart was
The trash was collected
Swept away under the rugs to keep clean

I tore apart the house
Searching for better reason
The memories fled
Between wooden pieces and under gloss

I should’ve said sorry for the messes I made
Trying to find what used to be normal
Hidden below the surface
Where it only comes out at night

I should’ve said sorry for the words I used
When I said that I was sorry
Well below the surface
The things that come out at night
