Lost By the Light

I’ve been let go, let down and constantly disappointed
Confused by the confusion,
I’m often searching for another battleground
Where can I fight?
Or what do I need?
Sources flowing through un-resourcefully
I’m looking now through the other side
I can’t run to you, can’t walk and never can follow through
Given all that I once had, two empty hands filled with withering sand
Nothing can disappoint
In the words she said, said all things that once mattered never counted
“If pride were sunshine I’d be lighting up this room right now”
Because nobody will ever see me
How true held the sun, held by the weight of the world
That no man could ever ask
“For what is your only light given if you’d let another take it away?”
