Edge to Edge

Kissed the line taken away
Outer shell
Faster waters crossed the surface we’d remove
Silhouettes of chairs visited
A front porch just so long ago

Breathing in,
Fire engulfing this entire house
Smoke alarms and coughing
Some how send alarms out to those looking

Edge to edge,
My fingers cross the map back to you
A summers kiss of golden tone
The hills are chasing you

Deeper down, hope removed away
All of the quarts;
Slowly making way to the touch of your hands
Fingers prints leave their marks on the wall
Saying I wish I was here

Don’t say you’ll never save me
We are still chasing the lamps that followed us home
Dimly lit eyes,
Faces so plane as I brush past the surface scratches

Disposed of in dust,
Inner self, hardened core
Knowing that the drop of the ball will shatter the past
Creases and folds carry over from the last chapter

Edge to edge,
I’ve fallen off summers cliff once or twice
And I have wings
Veering over the world, everything is different again

Breathing in your tears,
Somehow this pain has gotten me through the latter steps of the ladder I stand on
A mile below your home a hardened core
A foot below your home, a harder floor

Kissed the line that makes the rivers mouth
Swimming up the current never gained me much progress
Pushed into the oceans arms
And I am open again
